How upstream found its 135, and why this app could not
Jeremy Sachs did remarkable work recovering the 2021 glyph set. He pulled his from movie trailers. He pulled his from a sparkly watch advertisement. He pulled his from behind-the-scenes visual effects footage.
That is archaeology, and it is the reason his project has the reputation it has.
It is also not a chain this app can ship. Glyphs recovered from promotional footage carry the rights of that footage with them, and a free download on a public website is not the place to test how far that stretches. So Expanded135 was built from scratch, at the same character count, from fonts whose licenses are explicit.
What the 135 are
Every character sits at a fixed slice. The manifest records the source, transform, ink bounds and hash of each one.

The 22 sigils go in a fixed order: four branches, four open gates, four orbits, four staggered ladders, four broken knots, and two beacons. Flat terminals, straight segments, 45 degree diagonals, rings, quarter arcs, and deliberate breaks. No font, no external artwork.
One detail worth stating because it looks like a mistake and is not. The geometric block comes from Symbols 2 while the directional and mathematical blocks come from the CJK font, because the pinned Symbols 2 release does not map those two ranges. The manifest records the real source of every slice instead of relying on a silent fallback.

This style renders natively at 3840 by 2160 and 5120 by 2880. The glyph atlas picks its mip level from the real backing scale, so characters stay sharp on a 5K panel instead of going soft.
Refresh rate is handled separately from simulation rate. The rain advances on its own fixed schedule and the shader interpolates between the current state and the previous one at presentation time, so a 120 Hz display gets 120 smooth frames without the rain running faster. On battery or under thermal pressure the app drops to 30 or 15 fps and turns bloom off.
